Book Spotlight: My Story, God's Glory by Taylor Turner

RELIGION / Christian Living / Spiritual Growth / Biography

Date Published: September 8, 2026
Publisher: Clay Bridges Press

This is a testimony of faith: real, tested, questioned, and ultimately transformed.

In this deeply personal journey, Taylor Turner shares her walk with God through seasons that challenged everything she thought she knew about faith. With honesty and vulnerability, she invites readers into her story, revealing what it truly means to trust God—not only in moments of joy, but in times when life feels uncertain, overwhelming, and beyond control.

Her faith was never perfect.
It was questioned.
It was stretched.
At times, it felt fragile.

This book is for real people who wrestle with doubt, who carry questions, and who have experienced seasons where belief does not come easily. It is for anyone who has ever wondered where God is in the middle of their story.

Though not a story of perfect faith, My Story, God's Glory is a story of growing faith. Page by page, one truth becomes clear: a relationship with God is not formed in comfort, but in surrender—shaped in the very moments that test us most.

Inspired by the call of Jesus in Mark 16:15 to “go into all the world and proclaim the gospel,” this story is shared to declare what God has done and to point others back to Him.

If you are searching, struggling, or longing for something deeper, this book will remind you that God is nearer than you think—and that your story is not finished.

Because even when faith feels weak, God remains faithful.

Excerpt

I want to begin this final chapter by making something very clear: nothing in my story is because of me. Everything I have walked through, every moment I survived, every piece of healing I experienced, none of it came from my own strength. It all came from God.

I am not special. Everyone has a story. Everyone carries pain, heartbreak, and struggles. But my prayer is that by sharing mine, the strong moments and the weak ones, you are pushed toward Christ. Not gently, but with urgency. Because we do not have time to waste.

Let me say that again:

We do not have time to waste.

I need God every single day. I am deeply grateful for how faithful He has been to me, even in moments when my faith in Him was weak. This chapter is my attempt to share the things God has revealed to me through years of pain, grief, healing, and restoration. My hope is that this book and especially this chapter draws you closer to Him.

That is why we share our testimonies.

Jesus said in Luke 8:39 (ESV): “Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.”

That is exactly what I am doing here.

And I hope it inspires you to tell your story too. Let’s start with faith.

Faith

Faith is a simple word, but it becomes far more complex when we have to live it out. It is easy to say we believe in something, but real faith is revealed when life becomes difficult.

The Bible says in Jeremiah 17:7–8:

But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

When Alvin had his accident, my faith was not deeply rooted in Christ. I believed in God, yes, but belief alone is not the same as knowing Him. When hard things happened, fear took over. Every time bad news came, I crumbled because my trust was not fully planted in Him. Faith does not come simply from saying you believe in Jesus. It grows through relationship.

A relationship means communication. It means knowing someone, deeply understanding their character, their goodness, their mercy. I did not truly know those things about God yet. I did not understand how deeply He loved me or how much He desired to give me life abundantly. That is why everything felt like it was falling apart.

But when your roots are planted in Christ, storms may come, and you may sway, but you do not collapse. You know the Highest King is with you. Nothing can stand against Him. So, if you want your faith to grow, it begins with something very simple.

Open your Bible.

Book Spotlight: The Glades by Angela Hunt

The Glades JustRead Blog Tour

Welcome to the Blog Tour for The Glades by Angela Hunt, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

About the Book

The Glades

Title: The Glades
Author:
Angela Hunt
Publisher:
Hunt Haven Press
Release Date: October 13, 2026
Genre:
Suspense Thriller

When Katherine Armstrong arranges a birthday weekend on her husband's private island in the Everglades, she plans for everything: the guest list, the menu, the flowers, the careful distance between herself and the dark water beyond the dock.

She does not plan for the storm.

By nightfall, the power is gone, the mainland is unreachable, and something in the mangrove shadows has begun to move. Katherine has spent years building a life that looks flawless from the outside. Now, with her children beside her and the water on every side, she will have to decide what that life was actually worth.

Sixty years earlier, a World War II veteran named Conrad Boone made a decision on these same waters — one that seemed containable, even necessary, at the time. He passed the consequence of that decision to his family. They learned to live with it. And the island learned to keep its secrets.

Until the storm.

The Glades moves between a Florida that no longer exists and a Florida that is drowning in its own inheritance, between a man who thought he could manage what he'd done and a woman who never knew there was anything to manage. What lives beneath the water has been patient for sixty years.

It will not be patient much longer.

Excerpt

Connie nodded toward the bull croc on the sand. “That’s Romeo.”

The Nile was thirty-six years old—two years younger than Micco—but twice his length. He lay motionless in the sun, his jaw open, his hide the color of old bark. Patient. Aware of everything.

“The females are Crimson, Clover, and Buttercup.”

Micco turned. “Whatever possessed you to name them—”

“Songs,” Connie said. “Top of the charts back then.”

Micco gripped the railing of the feeding platform. When he gave it a shake, the railing wobbled. “How often do you replace this?”

“Every seven or eight years.” Connie kept his attention on Romeo. “Never lean on it. The wood swells and screws come loose. That railing is the only thing keeping you out of that water.” He paused. “But it’s not the only thing you have to maintain.”

He pointed toward the lagoon’s retaining wall, walking Micco through its construction and maintenance as he’d rehearsed it a hundred times. The mangrove roots that burrowed into the concrete and had to be cut back, the patching that followed. The inlet that clogged after heavy rains—even a fraction over six inches, and you rode out here, no matter the weather, no matter the hour, because a blockage could back the water up fast. A flooded lagoon was not a problem you solved in hindsight.

“You can’t underestimate ‘em,” Connie said. “They’re smart. I’ve seen ‘em balance sticks on the end of their snouts to lure herons—that’s downright cunning. I’ve also seen ‘em work together to herd fish. Romeo might be the smartest of the lot, and he gets bored.”

Christy-Award winner Angela Hunt writes for readers who have learned to expect the unexpected in novels from this versatile author. With nearly six million copies of her books sold worldwide, she is the best-selling author of more than 160 works ranging from picture books (The Tale of Three Trees) to novels and nonfiction.

Now that her two children are grown, Angie and her husband live in Florida with Very Big Dogs (a direct result of watching Sandlot too many times). This affinity for mastiffs has not been without its rewards--one of their dogs was featured on Live with Regis and Kelly as the second-largest canine in America. Their dog received this dubious honor after an all-expenses-paid trip to Manhattan for the dog and the Hunts, complete with VIP air travel and a stretch limo in which they toured New York City. Afterward, the dog gave out paw-tographs at the airport.

When she's not home writing, Angie often travels to teach writing workshops at schools and writers' conferences. And to talk about her dogs, of course.

My Thoughts:

I’ve just started into my copy of Exploring Psalms & Proverbs: A Creative Coloring Journal by Jacqui Grace, and I already think it is a lovely book. Each of the selected verses or concepts comes from the Biblical books of Psalms and Proverbs. Many of them are well-known: Enter His gates with thanksgiving, The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want, and There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother, etc.

What I really like about Exploring Psalms & Proverbs is that each verse or concept is not limited to a single page spread. The verse is given first, then coloring opportunities and space for journaling follow. Sometimes a craft idea is included. The artwork for coloring is cute, modern, and often features nature themes. Because each verse is addressed over the course of several pages, it might take the user several days or even a week to complete them all. As each activity harkens back to the original verse or thought, this format allows for repetitive meditation on the verse.

For me, Exploring Psalms & Proverbs: A Creative Coloring Journal by Jacqui Grace is not a book to be rushed though. I like to use it as I have time and desire, and it has the flexibility to allow for that. I recommend it for Christian women who enjoy coloring and journaling as a way to meditate on Scriptures.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a copy of this book from the author or publisher. My review reflects my honest opinion.
