“Were you a born bookworm or did someone get you into the habit of reading?”
My answer: I think it was both actually. I had a natural enjoyment of reading but it was fueled by my grandpa who would take me to Books-A-Million every week and let me get $20 worth of Baby Sitter's Club books. From that point on, I always loved to read.
What about you?
Books-A-Million sounds like a place I need to check out! Is this an indie bookstore, or is a chain that I have never heard of.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I never got into The Babysitters Club, but I did love the Sweet Valley High series!! I can't believe I forgot about that when I wrote my post.
Thanks so much for dropping by Rivera Runs Through It.
Books-A-Million is like a Barnes & Noble, but I think it is regional. I loved it. I remember the Sweet Valley High series too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great grandfather. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteThe memories are the best don't you think?
Happy Hopping!!

Your grandpa took you to Books-A-Million and let you get $20.00 worth of books? EVERY WEEK?! You LUCKY, LUCKY girl!! Geez...my grandpa gave me only one book, as far as I can remember, and it wasn't one I really liked. It was titled "Five Little Peppers and How they Grew". I was more into adventure -- like "Treasure Island", for instance. Oh, well....
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Baby Sitter's books. Sounds like you really liked them, so I'll have to find out more. After all, I might become an aunt in the future!
Thanks for sharing, and thanks for commenting on my BBH post!! : )
